Presenter Stephen Barbarossa
AP Analyzing & Interpreting Quantitative Data: Presenter Stephen Barbarossa
Stephen Barbarossa has been teaching AP Calculus at Kennedy Catholic High School in Washington State since 2015. He is grateful to work with motivated students who are perseverant problem-solvers, and he leverages a variety of teaching strategies, including dialogue-heavy direct instruction, visualizations, and games and activities, to help students develop an understanding of and appreciation for calculus.
Stephen is a college board-endorsed workshop consultant for AP Calculus and AP Precalculus; a college board mentor for new and experienced AP Calculus teachers, and a reader for the AP Calculus AB and BC exams. Stephen is passionate about helping educators understand and appreciate how they can collaborate with teachers of other disciplines to help their students develop skills that underlie many subjects. To support educators in that endeavor, Stephen has regularly presented in-person and online AP cross-curricular skills workshops, and he has collaborated with the University of Notre Dame’s Science and Religion Institute to develop cross-curricular and interdisciplinary lesson plans for educators who teach science and theology at the high school level.
