This session will cover what is new and coming with College Board. From the SAT going digital to new AP courses and more, Sarah and Kimberly will provide updates and answer questions you may have.

Gloria Lueras-Kidd will walk participants through the process of applying to become an AP reader and give information about what AP readers do, what training is involved, and the compensation involved.
Teachers will explore how to utilize an interactive notebook to engage students in AP coursework.
This session will review current literature that discusses the benefits and barriers of offering Advanced Placement courses in all schools. In addition, we will focus on sharing and highlighting best practices that are currently working in New Mexico. A focus will be on how to increase participation and success for economically disadvantaged students.

Explore how to utilize the SAT Suite of Assessment reporting tools to guide student recruitment and enrollment into Advanced Placement (AP). This interactive session will provide specific strategies to access PSAT/SAT scores and AP Potential to enhance your AP courses and programs of study. In addition, the session will focus on equitable practices to support student enrollment in rigorous coursework to support college and career readiness for all students.

AP Seminar and AP Research are the foundational courses for the AP Capstone program. These courses instill foundational skills that are crucial for, not only subsequent AP courses but in high school, college, and beyond. Attend this session to hear from a successful AP Research teacher in our state and College Board about the courses, their benefits, and how to get them started.

My outcome would be to enable other AP Biology teachers to support their students in identifying and understanding free response question action verbs. Additional outcomes will be providing different strategies to support students in answering free response questions on the AP exam. These strategies can be used in a virtual and in-person setting.

Learn tips on how to prepare your art students and their work for the AP portfolio submissions.

It's easy to use AP Classroom and former test questions to teach the traditional AP student. But for non-traditional students, just accessing those texts can be daunting, never mind the skills needed to answer the questions. In this session, teachers will hear some ideas on how to make the high-level skills demanded in composing argument and analysis essays more accessible for non-traditional through relevant and *gasp* possibly even fun activities. There will also be time for idea swapping among all participants.

Teachers will be able to navigate AP Classroom in order to successfully assign quizzes, videos, progress checks, and more. They will also be able to extract data from assigned tasks.

For this presentation, Alfred Pinkerton will discuss reaction coordinates and activation energies. This is an advanced AP subject, but Mr. Pinkerton will demonstrate how it can be broken down into bite-size pieces and used as a component within an AP Chemistry or even AP Physics class. As both classes are interconnected at their core, such a presentation could ostensibly be used in both curricula.

In this session, we will explain and demonstrate our multiple choice protocol that helps students unpack the passages, questions, and answer choices. Students learn how to identify key evidence from passages to identify the most correct answer. With this protocol, they are able to differentiate between distractors and correct answers. Our protocol is designed with the AP Literature and Language format in mind but applies to any exam that involves deep reading of passages.

This session will provide AP social studies instructors with strategies and tools for preparing their students for the various content-related exams in May. Instructors will better understand the format of the various history/social studies exams, as well as important instructional approaches for preparing students in both the writing portion (FRQs, DBQs, LEQs, SAQs) and multiple choice testing formats.
